"We loved the hotel. The staff was great and the rooms were modern and spacious and well equipped. The location was great and there was parking under the hotel that was connected by an elevator. Breakfast was the best continental breakfast of any hotel we have stayed in (except for perhaps Rome, Italy). The breakfast staff working very hard to make sure everything was well stocked and clean. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Halifax."

"It appeared that they had just renovated the rooms. Unfortunately, the renovation had several mistakes that were interesting: the tall lamp in the corner of the room was not assembled properly and one of the legs was broken so it would tip over, the gooseneck lamps between the beds were wired incorrectly so that when you turned them on you got a flashing strobe light instead of a constant light (this actually is a concern for electrical safety, the doors in the rooms next to us slammed so hard that the walls shook. Breakfast pancakes were delicious."

"An excellent hotel located below The Citadel, with a superior attached restaurant Gio. Food was imaginative, as were the drinks, and the staff excellent. Our king room was well appointed, with plenty of room and two armchairs. We enjoyed the ala carte breakfast, happy hour, and dinner at Gio. The housekeeping staff were top notch too. Location is walkable to the waterfront, and a somewhat longer but pleasant walk to the terrific Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. Parking in the basement of the hotel is fine for a smaller car. We had a Jetta and it was a little tight. Could be a somewhat challenging for a larger SUV, but the hotel also offers valet parking. Definitely a great stay, and one we would repeat on our next visit to this lovely city."
